Use Case: Power Plants – Reliable Energy Supply in the Ports of Rotterdam and Wilhelmshaven
Project overview
Greiner implemented the electrical infrastructure for two important port locations: Rotterdam and Wilhelmshaven. For both projects, 76 fields of Motor Control Centers (MCC) were installed to ensure safe and reliable control of the energy supply.
Challenge
The port facilities in Rotterdam and Wilhelmshaven are important logistical and economic hubs in Europe. They place enormous demands on reliability and operational stability, so that – in the case of Rotterdam – more than 1 million tons of goods can be transported smoothly every day. The MCCs must therefore ensure precise, robust and fail-safe control and monitoring of the numerous electric motors and systems
Project Highlights
- Fast project completion at highly complex port locations in Rotterdam and Wilhelmshaven
- Precise control for complex port facilities: made possible by 76 MCC bays installed each
- Special requirements: high robustness, reliability and adaptability
- Technical highlights: modular MCC systems with precise control and monitoring functionality
