Use Case: China – 90 MCC Fields and Main Control Room for the Three Gorges Dam
Project overview
Greiner supplied a comprehensive electrical infrastructure for the Three Gorges Dam in China, one of the world’s largest hydroelectric power plants. The equipment included the main control room and 90 fields of Motor Control Center (MCC) to ensure the control of the complex technical systems.
Challenge
The Three Gorges Dam places the highest demands on the reliability, precision and availability of the control systems. As critical infrastructure for energy generation and flood control, all systems must function permanently and without disruption. The particular challenges were the integration of the control technology into the existing complex infrastructure and the guarantee of the highest level of operational reliability and maintainability.
