Use Case: Chemical Industry (TDI Plant) – Highly Secure Power Distribution on a Large Industrial Scale

Project overview

In an extensive project for a TDI production plant in the chemical industry, Greiner implemented a complex infrastructure for energy supply and distribution. The project included the installation of 3,000 m² of raised floor, a DC distributor, 40 low-voltage main distribution panels (NSHV) and 75 heat trace cabinets.

Challenge

The production of toluene diisocyanate (TDI), an essential raw material in the production of polyurethanes (used for foams, paints and adhesives, among other things), places high demands on the operational safety and reliability of the electrical infrastructure. Chemical environments with aggressive substances require particularly robust and maintenance-friendly solutions. In addition, efficient heat management by means of trace heating and integration into an existing raised floor system were crucial for smooth operation.

Project Highlights

  • Total area of raised floor: 3,000 m²
